In 2009 & again in 2010, while training clients and directing staff at Unlimited Personal Training, I won the World Sprint Triathlon Championship the 30-34 age group. It was a huge achievement, and an experience I will never forget. While training clients, my style is relaxed, with a high expectation that my client will complete the next exercise without hesitation. So it’s quick and calm. I’m all about balance and like to find simple ways for clients to improve their fitness and maintain their focus, so they can move forward in other areas of life as well. My training programs are based on athletic conditioning and calculated progression, with moves that create the functional ability of better performance. On the corporate scene I have been asked to speak to many groups about health and life balance. I have also provided keynote speeches for high schools and sporting groups.
Why did I become personal trainer?
I discovered I was a natural motivator after being told by family friends that they thought of me and… “stopped smoking” … or … “went for a jog” and I thought if I can motivate people without even being there, I need to be a personal trainer, and then after completing my sports science degree, it felt like the natural thing for me to do.

I first joined the gym at 16 for preseason AFL, i loved it so much I never ended up going back to football, for me training is all about improving, wether it be loosing that extra kilo, or adding weight to the bar. I am always striving to improve my own body through a combination of training, and healthy eating. I like to specialise in resistance sessions, targeting specific body parts or combinations of body parts. Through my time in the weights room I have trained in a very wide variety of styles, so I always aim to bring something new to my sessions with clients. I also don’t believe in an aesthetic only body, through personal experience I now know the need for building a functional body in order to maintain good health. Stretching and postural corrective exercises are vital for this, and I am currently striving to learn more in this area. Aside from the gym I like snowboarding through winter, and wakeboarding over summer.
Why Did you become a trainer?
Becoming a trainer felt like a natural progression from my weight training as I love the gym environment, and so working in it and teaching others my knowledge is ideal.

I specialise in training weekend warriors to world champion athletes. I have seen over and over again that having an exciting external goal with the internal drive to match it, creates a unique environment in which more can be expected and it’s my role to direct and focus this opportunity. On top of Cert III and IV in fitness, I have 7 years of personal training and group fitness experience, plus years as a very competitive martial artist, rock climber, XC mountain biker and triathlete. I love working with clients to break down their barriers, challenge them and then see their faces when they perform better than they anticipated.
